Abstract
U radu su analizirane mogućnosti implementacije nove, Seawater Steam Engine (SSE) tehnologije, s obzirom na klimatološke karakteristike i specifična onečišćenja morske vode, za četiri odabrane lokacije: Naha (Japan), Dubai (UAE), Miami (SAD) i Vis (Hrvatska). Isto tako, u radu su prikazane i sve procesne vode SSE tehnologije te ključni parametri koji utječu na efikasnost SSE sustava, kao i postupci predobrade i naknadne obrade voda s obzirom na opisana specifična onečišćenja. Obzirom na klimatološke karakteristike, dobiveni rezultati analize pokazuju da su područja odabranih lokacija Miamija, Visa i Dubaija vrlo pogodne za implementaciju ove tehnologije, dok je lokacija Nahe djelomično prihvatljiva jer je na njoj relativno manja količina direktnog solarnog zračenja. Nadalje, zbog širokog spektra onečišćujućih tvari na području Miamija, potreban je odabir nekog drugog područja u blizini, dok u tom smislu ostale odabrane lokacije, a posebice Vis, u potpunosti zadovoljavaju zahtjevima SSE tehnologije. Obzirom na specifična onečišćenja odabranih lokacija rezultati analize pokazuju da se postupcima predobrade, morska voda može obraditi do stupnja koji je prihvatljiv za mogućnost implementacije SSE tehnologije. Specifična onečišćenja mora na odabranim lokacijama mogu uzrokovati razne tehničke probleme u radu sustava i imati značajan utjecaj na učinkovitost tehnologije. Radikalno nova SSE tehnologija, koja korištenjem tri prirodna resursa: Sunca, morske vode (kao radnog fluida) i gravitacije, može istovremeno proizvoditi i energiju i pitku vodu te naselja i gradove učiniti potpuno održivim i neovisnim o vanjskim izvorima vode i energije, a što je put prema izgradnji održivih zajednica i zaustavljanju klimatskih promjena.
Abstract (english)
The implementation analysis of the new, Seawater Steam Engine technology, considering the climatological characteristics and specific pollutants for chosen locations: Naha (Japan), Dubai (UAE), Miami (SAD) and Vis (Croatia), was studied in this work. Process waters and crucial parameters which affect the efficiency of the SSE system, along with methods of treatment and pre-treatment for specific pollutants, were also presented. According to the climatological characteristics, results show that the locations of Miami, Vis and Dubai are suitable for the implementation of this technology, while Naha is only partially suitable due to the shortage of direct solar irradiation. Furthermore, due to the wide range of pollutants in the area of Miami, a new location is required, while all the other locations, especially Vis, fully satisfy the requirements of the SSE technology. According to the analysed specific pollutants, results show that seawater can be easily treated by the means of different pre-treatment methods, providing satisfactory characteristics for the implementation of SSE technology. Certain pollutants can cause a wide variety of technical problems and have a great impact on the efficiency of the technology. The radical, new Seawater Steam Engine technology, which utilizes three natural resources: Sun, seawater (as the working fluid in the system) and gravity, could simultaneously produce energy and drinking water and thus make settlements and cities completely independent of external sources of water and energy, which is the pathway to the establishment of sustainable communities and stopping climate change.
