Abstract
Ulaskom Republike Hrvatske u Europsku uniju, hrvatskim poduzećima otvorile su se nove mogućnosti poslovanja kako na nacionalnoj tako i na međunarodnoj razini. U sklopu rada provest će se istraživanje među malim i srednjim poduzećima na području Varaždinske županije kako bi se prikupili podaci o stupnju i oblicima internacionalizacije istih na zajedničkom tržištu Europske unije. Osim prednosti poslovanja na međunarodnoj razini i mogućnosti za brži rast i razvoj, mala i srednja poduzeća susreću se s brojnim zaprekama u procesu internacionalizacije. Globalna ekonomska kriza ostavila je dubok trag u hrvatskom gospodarstvu koje je još uvijek u fazi oporavka što nije povoljan čimbenik za poslovanje malih i srednjih poduzeća.
