Abstract
U ovom radu se susrećemo s pojom transakcija u bazama podataka a one čine niz naredbi koje imaju svojstvo da se izvršavaju sve ili nijedna. Svojstva transakcija su atomarnost, konzistencija, izoliranost i trajnost. Osnovne naredbe za rad sa transakcijama su BEGIN, COMMIT i ROLLBACK. Transakcije se u današnjim sustavima izvode konkurentno, a pritom se mogu javiti problemi izgubljenog ažuriranja, prljavo čitanje, neponavljajuće čitanje i fantomska čitanja koje riješavamo bravama kod kojih može doći do problema zastoja. Te također u ovom radu se može vidjeti kako transakcije funkcioniraju u Postgre-SQL-u.
