Abstract
Bitcoin je prva u potpunosti funkcionalna decentralizirana digitalna valuta, koja je uspjela privući značajan broj korisnika. Iako je Bitcoin vrlo kompleksan sustav, relativno je jednostavan za korištenje uz pomoć Bitcoin klijenta. Korisnik se naravno mora upoznati sa nekim osnovnim pojmovima, ali za prosječnog korisnika nije bitno poznavanje složenog skupa koncepata i tehnologija koje se koriste kako bi sudjelovao u sustavu. Ovim radom sam pokušala sažeto objasniti nastanak sustava, njegovu arhitekturu i funkcioniranje. Također, ne manje bitne su i njegove prednosti i mane, kao i opća prihvaćenost na globalnom financijskom tržištu.
