Abstract
Baze podataka oduvijek su imale važnu ulogu u organizaciji podataka, no razvojem Interneta i pojavom Velikih Podataka (engl. Big Data) javila se potreba za efikasnom pohranom velike količine podataka u što kraćem vremenu, za što relacijski model podataka više nije bio pogodan. Popularizacijom NoSQL pokreta došlo je do razvoja nerelacijskih modela podataka od kojih svaki ima svoje prednosti i nedostatke, jer različito pristupaju problemu Velikih Podataka. Upravo zato javila se ponovna potreba za korištenjem određenih koncepata relacijskog modela podataka. Kombinacijom modela sustavi bazirani na jednom modelu podataka počeli su se pretvarati u prve višemodelne sustave. Današnji sustavi za upravljanje bazama podataka većinom su višemodelni (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL…) i popularni među velikim korporacijama koje su u potrazi za efikasnom pohranom Velikih Podataka. Ovim radom opisani su glavni koncepti nerelacijskih modela podataka, višemodelnih baza podataka kao i prednosti i nedostaci istih. U praktičnom dijelu rada implementirana je web aplikacija za prikaz vremenskog rasporeda koja koristi višemodelnu bazu podataka OrientDB.
