Abstract
Tema rada je pregled i usporedba arhitektura chipseta temeljenih na Intelu i AMD-u. Rad se bavi osnovnim objašnjenjem pojmova vezanih za specifikacije pojedinog chipseta, definicijom chipseta, objašnjenjem funkcioniranja, povijesti Intela i AMD-a. U principu, chipset je jedna od ključnih komponenta za rad svakog računala. Sastoji se od dva dijela, odnosno od Northbridge-a i od Southbridge-a koji su zajedno povezani u jednu cjelinu i zaduženi su za reguliranje protoka informacije između svih preostalih komponenti nekog računala. Ključno je doći do određenog zaključka vezanog za bolji chipset. Do zaključka se došlo tako da su se usporedile vrijednosti specifikacija koje se nalaze unutar tablica. Specifikacije koje se uspoređuju su broj PCIe sabirnica, broj USB portova, broj SATA portova, brzina prijenosa podataka putem sabirnica i tako dalje.
