Abstract
Općenito su opisane web aplikacije i web servisi. Navedene su vrste web servisa SOAP i REST kao najkorištenije vrste. Prikazana je razlika između SOAP i REST web servisa. Nadalje , detaljnije su opisani RESTful web servisi kao i JSON koji je jedan od najkorištenijih formata kada je u pitanju obrada podataka. Osvrt na Java programski jezik u kojemu je napravljen praktični dio ovog rada. Na kraju se nalaze primjeri RESTful web servisa u Java EE i NetBeans razvojnom okruženju.
