Abstract
Rad objašnjava koncept kriptiranja podataka u cilju održavanja povjerljivosti, dostupnosti i integriteta baza podataka. Detaljno je opisana funkcionalnost kriptiranja uz opis metoda kriptiranja te najpoznatijih algoritama kriptiranja korištenih za baze. Na praktičnom primjeru je uz pomoć sustava za upravljanje bazama podataka MariaDB prikazano kriptiranje podataka putem funkcija te transparentno kriptiranje cijele baze (TDE). Zaključno se komentira korisnost te se ističu prednosti i nedostaci kriptiranja.
