Abstract
Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se narodnim običajima istočne Slavonije. Rad je podijeljen na osam poglavlja od kojih prvih pet poglavlja govori o životnim ili obiteljskim običajima vezanih uz značajne događaje u čovjekovu životu kao što su: rođenje djeteta, određene trenutke tijekom njegova odrastanja, značajnije događaje u životu seoske mladeži, sklapanje braka, smrt i pogreb. Posljednja tri poglavlja bave se godišnjim običajima koji obilježavaju blagdane koji se ponavljaju svake godine, a u Slavoniji su najvećim dijelom povezani s istaknutim blagdanima katoličkog kalendara kao što su Božić i Uskrs. Ovim radom se želi istaknuti važnost običaja koji su se prenosili s koljena na koljeno, a u današnje im se vrijeme sve manje poklanja pozornosti.
Abstract (english)
This thesis deals with the national customs of Eastern Slavonia. The work is divided into eight chapters from which the first five talk about life and family customs connected with the important events in human's life such as: the childbirth and specific moments of its growing up, significant events in life of rural youth, entering into marriage, death and a funeral. The last three chapters deal with annual customs which mark holidays that are repeating every year and in Slavonia are mostly connected with the distinguished holidays of Catholic calendar such as Christmas and Easter. The aim of this work is to emphasize the importance of customs, which had been transmitted from generation to generation and nowadays are being neglected.
