Abstract
U radu je obrađena Sokratova filozofija i metoda majeutike. Rad sadrži analizu dostupne literature koja se bavi proučavanjem metode majeutike te analizu Platonove knjige „Gorgija“ koja sadrži konkretne primjere ove metode prikazane kroz dijaloge između Sokrata (kroz čija usta Platon iznosi svoje stavove) i Gorgije, Kalikla te Pola (koji predstavljaju sofiste – profesionalne poučavatelje vještine govorništva - retore). Glavna tema „Gorgije“ jest retorika te se u ovim dijalozima raspravlja upravo o pitanjima retorike, odnosno govorništva ili umijeća uvjeravanja koje stoji nasuprot filozofskom načinu života. Nadalje, utvrđuje se aktualnost i mogućnosti metode majeutike u današnjem odgoju i poticanju razvoja kritičkog promišljanja.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with Socrates' philosophy and the method of majeutics. The paper contains an analysis of the available literature studying the method of majeutics and an analysis of Plato's book "Gorgias", which provides concrete examples of this method presented through dialogues between Socrates (through whom Plato expresses his views) and Gorgias, Calicles and Paul - who represent sophists - professional teachers of public speaking skills - rhetoricians). Gorgias' central theme is rhetoric, and these dialogues discuss precisely the issues of rhetoric, that is, oratory or the art of persuasion, which stands in opposition to the philosophical way of life. Furthermore, the relevance and possibilities of applying the method of majeutics in modern upbringing and education are determined.
