Abstract Briga o vlastitom tijelu, odnosno osobna higijena tijela i njezino redovito održavanje, sastavni su dio života svakoga čovjeka. Roditelji nas od najranije dobi uče redovitom održavanju higijene tijela i govore nam o njezinoj važnosti. Redovito provođenje higijene pridonosi dobrom zdravlju i čistom tijelu. Naglasak je oduvijek bio i na redovitom održavanju oralne higijene, tj. higijene usta i usne šupljine, zato što su zubi ogledalo našeg zdravlja. Cilj je ovog diplomskog rada ispitati kakve su higijenske navike učenika mlađe školske dobi, čiji je naglasak na redovitom održavanju oralne higijene, održavaju li učenici osobnu higijenu tijela samostalno ili uz pomoć roditelja, pohađaju li njihov razred učenici koji nemaju uredno razvijene higijenske navike te ujedno ispitati razinu svijesti učenika o važnosti higijene tijela i higijene usne šupljine i usta. Također, svrha ovoga rada je proučiti literaturu koja se odnosi na higijenu tijela, koja uključuje i oralnu higijenu. Istraživanje u obliku anketa provela sam u Osnovnoj školi „Antun Gustav Matoš“ Vinkovci u 3. i 4. razredima. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo ukupno 115 učenika, od kojih 50 učenika ženskog spola i 65 učenika muškog spola. Ankete su provedene u pisanom obliku i u potpunosti su anonimne. Prva se anketa odnosi na osobnu higijenu tijela i sadrži deset pitanja, dok se druga anketa odnosi na oralnu higijenu i sadrži devet pitanja. Teorijski dio rada obuhvaća teme: osobna higijena, higijenske navike, oralna higijena, građa, razvoj i bolesti zuba, bolesti u djece mlađe školske dobi, sredstva u provođenju oralne higijene, pranje zuba, ekstrakcija zuba, ozoniranje zuba, stomatološki pregled, zdravstveni odgoj u razrednoj nastavi i zastupljenost higijene u udžbenicima Prirode i društva, a empirijski dio rada odnosi se na rezultate anketa provedenih u Osnovnoj školi „Antun Gustav Matoš“ Vinkovci na uzorku od 115 učenika. Istraživanje je pokazalo kako većina učenika ima uredno razvijene higijenske navike i kako su svjesni važnosti očuvanja zdravlja. Ključnu ulogu u provođenju higijene kod djece imaju roditelju, čija je zadaća osigurati provođenje pravilne higijene tijela, kao i oralne higijene. Osim roditelja, bitnu ulogu imaju i učitelji. Kroz odgojno-obrazovne ustanove, poput škole, djeca mogu biti informirana i motivirana za brigu o vlastitom zdravlju od strane učitelja.
Abstract (english) Care for your own body, respectively, personal body hygiene and its regular maintenance are an integral part of every human's life. Parents are teaching us from our youngest ages about body hygiene maintenance and they tell us about its significance. Hygiene procedures allow us good health and a clean body. The emphasis was always on regular oral hygiene maintenance, that is, mouth hygiene, because teeth are a reflector of our health. The purpose of this graduate thesis is to question what are the hygiene habits of disciples of younger school-age whose emphasis is on the maintenance of oral hygiene, whether disciples maintain personal body hygene on their own or with the help of parents, whether their class is attended by disciples who don't have orderly developed hygene habits and also questioning the level of awareness of disciples about significance of the body and oral hygiene. As well, the purpose of this thesis is to study fully literature which refers to body hygiene, which includes oral hygiene. I conducted the research in the form of surveys at the Elementary School „Antun Gustav Matoš" Vinkovci in 3rd and 4th grade. In research have participated a total of 115 disciples, of which 50 were female disciples and 65 were male disciples. The surveys were conducted in written form and are completely anonymous. The first survey refers to personal body hygiene and contains ten questions, while the other survey refers to the oral hygiene of disciples and contains nine questions. The theoretical part of this thesis includes topics: personal hygiene, hygiene habits, oral hygiene, structure, development and dental illnesses, illnesses in young school children, means of oral hygiene, brushing teeth, tooth extraction, ozonation of teeth, dental examination, health education in the classroom teaching and the representation of hygiene in the textbooks of Nature and Society, and the empirical part of the thesis refers to results of surveys conducted at the Elementary School „Antun Gustav Matoš" Vinkovci on a sample of 115 disciples. Survey has shown how most of the disciples have orderly developed hygiene habits and are aware of the significance of maintaining health. A key role in the implementation of hygiene in children is played by parents, whose task is to ensure the implementation of proper body hygiene, as well as oral hygiene. Expect for the parents, teachers also have an important role. Through educational institutions, such as schools, children can be informed and encouraged to take care of their own health by the teachers.
