The quality of educational institutions is very important because education is a complex activity. This thesis focuses on students’ perception of the classroom atmosphere and students’ satisfaction with their school in general. A pleasant and positive atmosphere is very important for the social and emotional development of a child. Also, it is very important that the teacher creates a positive atmosphere with his behavior and attitude towards students. School satisfaction is an important aspect of the students’ experience of the school and will therefore be examined. The primary goal of this research is to determine whether students are satisfied with their schools and teachers. Also, it will be examined if there are differences between the satisfaction of regular and experimental school students. The research was conducted in February 2019 with the fifth grade of Zvonimir Frank Elementary School and Vladimir Vidrić Elementary School in Kutina on a sample of 40 students. Vladimir Vidrić Elementary School is one of many "Schools for Life" in Republic of Croatia. It is the name of an experimental program carried out by the Ministry of Science and Education. The obtained research results showed that the students of the experimental program at the Vladimir Vidrić Elementary School are more satisfied with their teaching, the material conditions of the school and the school in general. Also, the research showed that the students of Zvonimir Frank Elementary School are more satisfied with only one part of schooling - their teachers.
