The thesis of the final paper is "Toys and board games". The paper is divided into two parts: theoretical and research. The aim of the final paper is to analyze and determine the development of skills using modern children's toys and board games for preschool children. It was examined which toys and board games are used the most by which ages. Also, board games, although useful in learning and teaching, are very useful in upbringing and education. While some toys and board games have a negative impact, meaning they create addiction, many other games develop children's mental abilities. The research was conducted in May 2021, where an interview was used. The goal was to compare the equipment of urban and rural kindergartens, whether boys mostly play with boys, girls with girls and which ages use certain toys and board games, whether they play games without the use of technology and do they more prefer indoors or outdoor games. Children ages 6 to 7 are considered the most at-risk group for creating addiction to phones and computer games. Children learn through play from a young age and thus explore the world around them. Play is a key factor because it represents the most important path of a child's personality development. Childhood is the richest period of every child because what he then experiences and feels leaves a trace and significance for a lifetime and determines how an individual will develop in the future. During properly conducted secondary literature research, as well as the primary research which consisted of an interview conducted in two kindergartens in Nuštar and Vinkovci, it can be concluded that toys and board games are an indispensable part of every individual's development from birth to death, regardless of the period in question.
