Abstract
Svrha istraživanje bila je istražiti isplativost uvođenja FTTH mreže u ruralnom području, odnosno u mjestu Sveti Petar na Moru. Cilj obrade navedene teme bio je istražiti moguće scenarije implementacije širokopojasnog pristupa primjenom FTTH usluge. Analizirani su različiti scenariji, poput povećanja cijene usluge, mogući broj korisnika itd. Za potrebe istraživanja provela se anketa u mjestu Sveti Petar na Moru te se dobivenim podacima utvrdila zainteresiranost korisnika za uvođenje FTTH. Rezultati pokazuju da uvođenje FTTH mreže u mjestu Sveti Petar na Moru nije isplativo. Pokazalo se da ne postoje ekonomski održivi FTTH poslovni modeli, zbog prevelikih troškova FTTH pristupne mreže koji se ne mogu pokriti iz očekivanih prihoda po korisniku. U skladu s tim, može se zaključiti da implementacija FTTH mreže nije isplativa investicija općenito u svim ruralnim područjima.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the profitability of FTTH network implementation in a rural area, i.e. the village Sveti Petar na Moru. The goal of this paper was to explore potential scenarios of broadband access implementation by using FTTH service. Various scenarios were analysed, such as service price increase, possible number of users etc. For the purpose of this research, a survey was conducted in the village Sveti Petar na Moru, and the resulting data determined the interest of users for FTTH implementation. According to the results, the introduction of FTTH network in the village Sveti Petar na Moru is not profitable. It was shown that there are no economically viable FTTH business models due to the excessive cost of FTTH access network which cannot be covered from the expected profit per user. Accordingly, it can be concluded that FTTH implementation in rural areas in general is not a profitable investment.
