Abstract
Uvođenje treće generacije mobilnih mreža predstavljalo je revoluciju u razvoju mobilnih mreža. Zadovoljeni su zahtjevi korisnika za novim uslugama na pokretnoj mreži kao što su video pozivi, multimedijske usluge, pregledavanje internetskih sadržaja putem mobilnih mreža i druge. Za ostvarenje svega toga nužno je bilo digitalizirati mrežu te pronaći rješenje za povećanje kapaciteta svake pojedine ćelije. U ovom radu prikazana je arhitektura UMTS radio mreže, te su analizirani zahtjevi usluga i područja pokrivanja na kapacitet bazne stanice. Prikazani su modeli za dimenzioniranje bazne stanice. U radu su opisani i načini korištenja radio sučelja, objašnjeni su mehanizmi povećanja kapaciteta bazne stanice te mehanizmi upravljanja kapacitetom, kao ključnom stavkom u UMTS sustavu. U ovom radu prikazani su modeli širenja signala koji se koriste prilikom planiranja mreže baznih stanica, te je prikazan detaljna analiza performansi svakog pojedinog modela širenja signala.
Abstract (english)
The introduction of the third generation of mobile networks represented a revolution in the development of mobile networks. Customer requests for new mobile network services such as video calls, multimedia services, browsing the Internet via mobile networks, and others have been met. To achieve all this, it was necessary to digitize the network and find a solution to increase the capacity of each cell. This paper presents the architecture of the UMTS radio network, and analyzes the service requirements and coverage areas of base stations. Models for sizing base stations are also presented. This paper describes the ways of using the radio interface, explains the mechanisms of increasing the capacity of the base station and the mechanisms of capacity management, as a key item in the UMTS system. The signal propagation models used in the planning of the network of Node B's and a detailed analysis of the performance of each individual signal propagation model is presented in this paper.
