Abstract
Globalnim porastom stanovništva te samim time i većom potrošnom materijalnih dobara dovelo je do jednog od najvećih problema današnjice a to je otpad. Najveći zadatak svih država i njezinih stanovnika je da s jedne strane zaštite okoliš od onečišćenja dok sa druge izdvoje sve vrijedne stvari koje otpad može sadržavati. U radu je objašnjena osnovna podjela otpada te zakonske regulative koje daju smjernice prema kojima bi obrada otpada u Republici Hrvatskoj trebala težiti. Prikazane su količine otpada te stanje gospodarenja otpadom u Gradu Zagrebu. S obzirom na trenutačno stanje gospodarenja otpadom, dani je prijedlog poboljšanja postojećeg sustava gospodarenja otpadom u Gradu Zagrebu.
Abstract (english)
Global population growth and therefore higher expendable material goods has led to one of the biggest problems of our time, which is waste. The biggest task of all states and its inhabitants is to protect the environment from pollution on the one hand and on the other hand to separate all the valuable things that waste can contain. The paper explains the basic division of waste and the legislation that provides guidance on how waste treatment in the Republic of Croatia should aspire. The quantities of waste and the state of waste management in the City of Zagreb are presented. In view of the current state of waste management, a proposal was made to improve the existing waste management system in the City of Zagreb.
