Intermodalni prijevoz robe uključuje prijevoz tereta u intermodalnom kontejneru ili vozilu, korištenjem više načina prijevoza, bez rukovanja samog tereta pri promjeni načina prijevoza. Geoprometni položaj Republike Hrvatske je na raskrižju prometnih pravaca od kojih jedan povezuje Baltičko more preko Podunavlja s Jadranskim morem, a drugi Zapadnu i Srednju Europu s Jugoistočnom Europom i Bliskim istokom. Intermodal transport involves the transport of cargo in intermodal container or vehicle, using multiple modes of transportation, without handling the cargo when changing modes of transportation. The geographical position of the Republic of Croatian is on the crossroads of transport routes, one of which connects the Baltic Sea through the Danube region with the Adriatic Sea and the other Western and Central Europe with South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
