Abstract
U radu se istražuju povijesni, ekonomski, pravni te politički aspekti migracija između Meksika i Sjedinjenih Američkih Država. Razmatrajući povijesna zbivanja u devetnaestom stoljeću uzrokovana ratnim previranjima između Meksika Sjedinjenih Država kroz rad se povlači paralela s današnjim odnosom teritorija i populacije na Jugozapadu Sjedinjenih Država. Temeljna teza rada glasi: “Prostor izgubljen od strane Meksika u korist SAD-a polako, zahvaljujući migracijama hispanofonog stanovništva, Latinoamerikanaca prema Sjeveru ponovno postaje dijelom Latinske Amerike”. Migracije Latinoamerikanaca prema Sjedinjenim Američkim državama ne jenjavaju neovisno o promjenama migracijskih politika te je razložno za pretpostaviti kako bi Jugozapad Sjedinjenih Država, gledajući današnje demografske podatke moga ponovno postati dijelom Latinske Amerike.
Abstract (english)
The paper explores the historical, economical, legal, and political aspects of migration between Mexico and the United States. Considering the historical events of the nineteenth century caused by the war turmoil between Mexico of the United States, the paper draws a parallel with the current relationship between the territories and the population in the Southwestern United States. The basic thesis of the paper is: "The territory lost by Mexico in favor of the United States is slowly, thanks to the migrations of the Hispanic population, Latinos to the North again becoming a part of Latin America." Latin American migration to the United States has not been negatively impacted by changes in migration policies, and it is reasonable to assume that the Southwestern United States, looking at today's demographics, could become part of Latin America again.
