This paper seeks to explore what are the determinants of the European youth volunteering programs that contribute to the building of the European identity and European solidarity. European volunteering programs are the mechanism for connecting and empowering young European volunteers. Through the current program, the European Solidarity Corps, young people are indisputably working on their skills. However, the emphasis is on preventative or curative, but always solidarity action. Volunteering has focused on the crisis of the community and has thus achieved many dimensions of expression of the European identity. The processes have proven that youth volunteer programs undergo multiple coordination between European and national areas. The European Union regulation is based on a proven agenda, which introduced action on the principles of the European Youth Strategy, and also shows that the legislative and implementing side of the European volunteering programs is to work together on the concept of European identity. The research done due to this academic paper proved the great similarities and complementarities between the concepts that make up the determinants of European volunteering programs and European identity. Those are a sense of belonging to the community, international close and friendly relations, common activities, as well as standardization and regulation of youth policy at the European level. Sharing the experiences of young Europeans who have defined European volunteering programs and linked them to their own lives can have long-term positive effects on the future of the EU.
