Creating content about social crises is important in order to leave a trace of experiences that will prevent potential future social crises. The covid-19 pandemic represents a global crisis of health, society, politics and economy. This paper deals with the creation process of the graduation film Generations of Isolation, which shows three generations of children and young people, aged 7, 15 and 23, and deals with their experiences of isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. The documentary film was the fastest growing film genre on streaming services during the pandemic and because of this we can see how the pandemic and the documentary film influenced each other. There are six modes in the documentary genre: expository, performative, poetic, observational, participatory and reflexive. Another important element is the voice in the documentary film, which represents the way the author displays his message through the film. At the time of the pandemic, various documentaries were filmed about the pandemic itself, some of which proved to be dangerous for public screening because they posed a risk of spreading incorrect information. That's why the graduation film Generation of Isolation does not deal with an expository explanation of the pandemic, but enters the lives of young people by showing their experiences and honest thoughts. Each generation looks at the pandemic differently, and social isolation will leave a different mark on each of them. The consequences of this global crisis will certainly be revealed and dealt with accordingly for many years to come, but it is our duty to document it in order to make it easier for future generations to understand this type of collective trauma
