Abstract
Svrha ovoga rada jest istražiti i analizirati vanjskopolitičke strategije malih država u teoriji međunarodnih odnosa na primjeru Republike Hrvatske i Republike Litve, u kontekstu regionalne suradnje te djelovanja unutar Europske unije i Ujedinjenih naroda. Iako brojni autori tvrde kako male države nemaju puno prostora za djelovanje, ovim se radom želi pokazati kako države, neovisno o svojoj veličini, dobro promišljenom i definiranom vanjskom politikom, mogu ostvariti svoje nacionalne interese te zapažen uspjeh posebice u okviru regionalne suradnje, ali i u međunarodnim organizacijama.
Abstract (english)
In this essay the author discusses about Croatia and Lithuania as small states in the theory of international relations as well as their foreign policy strategies and abilities to accomplish their national interests considering regional cooperation and achievements in the European Union and United Nations. Unlike many authors consider it differently, the purpose of this essay is to show that small states, due to their wise foreign policy and geopolitical thinking, can have a remarkable success in the international community.
