Abstract
Ovaj rad analizira povezanost medijske reprezentacije Države Izrael u Večernjem listu i političke vlasti u Hrvatskoj. Analiziralo se 53 godine izdanja Večernjeg lista kako bi se stekao komparativni uvid u promjene uređivačke politike te u kojim je trenucima do promjena u prikazu Izraela u Večernjem listu dolazilo. Kvalitativnom analizom članaka te povijesnim kontekstom razdoblja u kojemu su napisani i objavljivani, ilustriralo se na koji je način Večernji list bio korišten u svrhe političke propagande te kako je pod utjecajem različitih vanjskih politika prikaz Izraela mijenjan. Večernji list ze vrijeme Jugoslavije plasirao je negativnu sliku Izraela, Večernji list 1990-ih plasirao je pozitivnu sliku Izraela, dok je suvremeni prikaz neutralan te nema direktan stav prema Izraelu.
Abstract (english)
This paper analyzes the link between the media representation of State of Israel in Večernji list and political regimes throughtout history in Croatia. 53 years of Večernji list were analyzed in order to gain a comparative insight into the editorial policy changes of Večernji list and at what time in political history of Croatia did they occcur. Combining qualitative analysis of the articles and the historical context of the period in which they were written and published, it was illustrated how media coverage about Israel in Večernji list was effected deeply by the ruling political regimes and their official policies towards Israel. During Yugoslavia the media representation of Israel was negative, while in 1990s, with the change of political system, it became positive. Contemporary Večernji list holds a neutral stance towards Israel.
