Abstract
Sažetak Celebrity populizam u literaturi je još uvijek u začecima, kao pojam se rijetko spominje, no mnogi autori ističu poveznice između celebrity politike i populizma. Cilj ovog diplomskog rada stoga je bio pokazati da su predsjednički kandidati na izborima 2019./2020., Miroslav Škoro i Ivan Pernar, celebrity populisti, te na njihovim primjerima objasniti karakteristike tog fenomena. Metoda koju sam koristila je studija slučaja kako bih se mogla kvalitetnije fokusirati na one karakteristike koje se tiču upravo celebrity populizma. Ovaj rad ističe dva različita tipa celebrity populista: Škoro kao tip 1 koji a) iz svijeta zabave ulazi u svijet politike te mu u popularizaciji njega kao političara ta slava dodatno pomaže, b) a ujedno je i populist; te Pernar kao tip 2, a) populist koji b) sebe kao zvijezdu gradi tek ulaskom u svijet politike i to u njegovom slučaju u stilu reality zvijezde.
Abstract (english)
Celebrity populism is still very new and unexplored in literature, but though the term is rarely mentioned, a lot of scholars find connections between celebrity politics and populism. This thesis aimed to show that Croatian presidential candidates in 2019./2020. elections, Miroslav Škoro and Ivan Pernar, are celebrity populists and by using them as examples to explain characteristics of celebrity populism. The method I used was a case study so that I could better focus on those characteristics that specifically relate to celebrity populism. The thesis highlights two different types of celebrity populists: Škoro as type 1 who a) enters the political world from the entertainment world, and his celebrityhood helps him in creating his political persona b) plus he is a populist; and Pernar as type 2, a) a populist b) who was not famous prior to his political work and is creating himself as a celebrity in the political world which is in his case in the style of reality celebrity.
