Agricultural work is based on the transportation of various loads. The need for transporting heavy loads began in the 1950s. Karl-Ragnar Astrӧm invented the first concept of a front-end loader to make it easier to load hay onto a trailer. Today, the use of a front-end loader is varied, including tasks such as transporting manure, sand, pallets, gravel, and more. This paper presents an overview of current design solutions for front-end loaders on the market. Regulations that agricultural vehicles must respect to regarding size and weight limits for homologation were studied in this paper. Product conceptualization was carried out by creating a functional structure based on a specifically defined list of requirements. Partial solutions were developed based on the selected functions from the functional structure and were listed in a morphological matrix. By selecting different partial solutions, three different concepts were devised. The best concept was chosen based on established selection criteria. After the best concept was selected, boundary conditions were defined. Considering these boundary conditions, a lever mechanism bracket was designed and dimensioned. The boundary conditions and dimensions of the lever mechanism bracket were used to determine the dimensions of hydraulic cylinders and the lever mechanism itself. Based on these dimensions, the detailed design of the lever mechanism was developed. Calculations for the lever mechanism's semi-finished products and critical elements were conducted. Finally, all technical specifications for the front-end loader are listed. The design of the front-end loader was modeled using SolidWorks 2020, and the technical documentation was also created in the same software.
