In the introduction the problem of the colon cancer and the treatment methods were described in detail. Colon cancer is the second cause of death due to malignant disease in developed countries. The most common method of treatment is surgical removal of the tumor. Colostomy is an operation which formes artificial colon opening (stoma), in the abdominal wall, to allow the discharge of intestinal contents when that is prevented by narrowing of the intestine, a foreign body, bowel obstruction or a tumor. Disposable or reusable bags are placed over stoma. The bag is designed to catch eliminated feces. The disadvantages and complications associated with the use of bags and existing supplies are numerous. After market analysis and identification of problems encountered by patients, certain requirements are determined in order to develop a new product that should remedy the shortcomings of the existing solutions. From the requirements, functional structure emerged and was conducted relational functions modeling. Morphological matrix is set with several solutions for each function. Three concepts are created of which, after evaluation with Pugh's method, the third concept was recognized as the most appropriate option. The third concept has only two components. With only two components, this concept offers a solution for identified demands and problems. Structural elaboration was used to rech the final proposal of design improvement. That device is easy to use and also production and assembly are quite simple. Also, maintaning hygiene is very simple. Production of device should be cheap which would make it very affordable. Great attention has been dedicated to ergonomics and aesthetics. Space for further progress and development still exist. Prototyping and testing should be a continuation of this work.
