Abstract Poduzeća danas koriste različite pristupe kod unaprjeđenja upravljanja proizvodnjom, kako bi poboljšali svoje poslovanje i smanjili svoj utjecaj na okoliš.
Abstract (english) Nowadays companies use different approaches to improve their manufacturing aiming to enhance their business and decrease environmental impact. Due to the large number of possible approaches, management of company has a difficulty to decide which of them to use. Of all the approaches aimed at increasing the efficiency the most famous is lean management or lean manufacturing, while common name for the approaches aimed at reducing the impact on the environment is green management or green manufacturing. These two approaches in companies usually tend to operate as separate systems often fighting for the same resources. Therefore, the question arises whether positive synergy effect can be achieved if these two approaches are used together. An integrated approach to lean and green manufacturing that takes into account the wider impact through the product life cycle and the application of LCA method could bringing positive synergy effects by at the same time increasing efficiency and reducing environmental impact. As part of the doctoral thesis, a comprehensive review of available literature from the subject area was carried out to determine the most commonly used lean tools, economic and environmental performance indicators, but also to gain a perspective of current research on the integration of lean and green production. In addition, the concepts and tools of lean management are explained in detail, as well as the methods and standards that appear within the green management. In order to further define the linkage between the lean and green management, research was conducted using a method of semi-structured interviews inside of companies that have implemented lean management in their work. The results of the literature review and the execution of a semi-structured interview were used to create a questionnaire by which the expert group, consisting of experts in the field of thin management, assessed the influence of specific lean tools on economic and environmental performance indicators. Based on the results of the expert group's answers analysis, the knowledge gained through the semi-structured interviews and the literature review, a new model of manufacturing management was made by integrating lean and green management. The model is verified through simulation and using real data from the enterprise. The paper also suggests the integration of the new model with the LCA method to achieve a product life cycle perspective. Finally, thus developed model can help businesses realize the ability to improve their performance measured by key economic and environmental performance indicators and environmental performance indicators throughout their whole product lifecycle.
