Abstract
Ovaj završni rad obrađuje temu ugljičnog otiska trajekta Sveti Krševan, u vlasništvu tvrtke Jadrolinija koji plovi na relaciji Orebić (poluotok Pelješac) - Dominče (otok Korčula). Ugljični otisak je zbroj svih ispuštenih količina različitih stakleničkih plinova tijekom životnog ciklusa nekog proizvoda bilo kakvom aktivnošću tog proizvoda ili vezanom za taj proizvod. S obzirom da su brodovi veliki proizvođači stakleničkih plinova ova obrađena tema je već neko vrijeme aktualna u pomorskim krugovima. Ljudska populacija svjedoči globalnom zatopljenju koje je posljedica prekomjernog ispuštanja stakleničkih plinova. Na brodove u priobalnoj plovidbi posebno se obraća pažnju jer oni prometuju u blizini obale, pa tako utječu na kvalitetu života u priobalnom području. Brodski energetski sustav ovog trajekta sastoji se od dizelskih strojeva koji se koriste za poriv i za pomoćne potrebe. Proračun ugljičnog otiska za takvu brodsku energetsku konfiguraciju je za potrebe ovog završnog zadatka izrađen pomoću programskog alata GREET 2019 za cjeloživotno razdoblje trajekta. Nadalje, na temelju rezultata su analizirane različite tehničke i operativne mjere koje bi mogle pridonijeti smanjenju ugljičnog otiska.
Abstract (english)
This final paper deals with the topic of the carbon footprint of the ferry Sveti Krševan, owned by the company Jadrolinija, which sails on the route Orebić (peninsula Pelješac) - Dominče (island of Korčula). The carbon footprint is the sum of all the quantities of different greenhouse gases emitted during the life cycle of a product by any activity of or related to that product. Given that ships are large producers of greenhouse gases, this topic has been topical in maritime circles for some time. The human population is witnessing global warming as a result of excessive greenhouse gas emissions. Coastal ships are given special attention because they operate near the coast, thus affecting the quality of life in the coastal area. The ship's energy system of this ferry consists of diesel engines used for propulsion and auxiliary needs. The calculation of the carbon footprint for such a marine energy configuration was made for the purposes of this final task using the GREET 2019 software tool for the ferry life cycle. Furthermore, based on the results, various technical and operational measures that could contribute to reducing the carbon footprint were analysed.
