Abstract
U ovom radu provedene su numeričke simulacije pokusa otpora jahte s ciljem ispitivanja utjecaja pramčanog bulba na ukupni otpor jahte. Modelska ispitivanja provedena su u bazenu za ispitivanje modela Schiffbautechnische Versuchsanstalt u Beču za tri modela jahte, jedan bez pramčanog bulba te dva s različitim tipovima pramčanog bulba. Dan je prikaz matematičkog modela temeljenog na Reynoldsovim osrednjenim Navier-Stokesovim jednadžbama (RANS) te je detaljno opisan numerički model. Numeričke simulacije provedene su primjenom komercijalnog programskog paketa STAR-CCM+. Proračunska domena diskretizirana je metodom konačnih volumena, a za praćenje i određivanje položaja slobodne površine primijenjena je metoda udjela fluida u volumenu (eng. Volume of Fluid, VOF). Primijenjena su tri modela turbulencije: k-ω SST, k-ε realizible i Reynolds Stress Model kako bi se ispitao utjecaj modela turbulencije na ukupni otpor jahte. Nadalje, proveden je postupak verifikacije numeričkih rezultata s ciljem određivanja numeričke nesigurnosti. Rezultati numeričkih simulacija pokazali su zadovoljavajuće slaganje s eksperimentalnim rezultatima. Analizirani su slika valova, raspodjela hidrodinamičkog tlaka i strujanje oko trupa za sva tri modela jahte i sva tri modela turbulencije.
Abstract (english)
In this thesis numerical simulations of resistance test are performed in order to investigate the influence of the bulbous bulb on the total resistance of the yacht. Model test are carried out in the towing tank at the Schiffbautechnische Versuchsanstalt in Vienna for three yacht models, one without the bulbous bow and two with different types of bulbous bow. Mathematical model based on Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations is presented and the numerical model is described in detail. Numerical simulations are performed using commercial software package STAR-CCM+. The computational domain is discretized by the finite volume method and the volume of fluid method (VOF) is used for tracking and locating the free surface. Three turbulence models are applied: k-ω SST, k-ε realizible and Reynolds Stress Model to investigate the influence of the turbulence model on the total resistance of the yacht. Furthermore, the verification study is performed with the aim of determining numerical uncertainty. The results of the numerical simulations have shown satisfactory agreement with the experimental results. The wave pattern, hydrodynamic pressure distribution and flow around the hull for all three yacht models and all turbulence models are analysed.
