Abstract
U diplomskom radu, nakon uvodnih tema te teorijske pozadine provedene su simulacije računalne dinamike fluida za slučaj hlađenja pogonskog elektromotora automobila. Simulacije su uključivale standardno korišteno vodeno hlađenje kao referentni model te više verzija direktnog uljnog hlađenja motora. Za razliku od vodenog hlađenja gdje fluid struji unutar kućišta motora, kod direktnog uljnog hlađenja ulje je u direktnom kontaktu s izvorima zagrijavanja – statorskim namotima te statorskim paketom, te struji unutar prostora motora. Iz modeliranih koncepata hlađenja, svaki s različitim kanalima za prolaz ulja promatrana su temperaturna polja dijelova motora za više protoka te pad tlaka kako bi se identificirala najbolja geometrija. Simulacije pokazuju kako se povećanjem broja kanala na vanjskom obodu statora te postavljanjem kanala što bliže izvoru gubitaka postižu najbolji rezultati sa strane termalnih performansi, no mogući su veliki padovi tlaka na što treba paziti pri odabiru metode hlađenja. Uz simulacije geometrija, u radu se komentira proizvodljivost dijelova te materijal košuljice za odvajanje statorskog i rotorskog dijela motora.
Abstract (english)
In this work, after introductory topics and theoretical background, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations for the cooling of an electric motor were performed. Simulations include standard water cooling geometry as an reference model, and multiple direct oil cooling geometries. Contrary to water cooling where the fluid flows inside the housing, in direct oil cooling method, oil is in direct contact with heat generating components of the motor – windings and stator stack, and flows on the inside of the motor. From those multiple models, each with different oil channels, temperature fields were observed for multiple flows is addition to the pressure drop to identify the best geometry. Simulations show that increasing channel number on the stator outer diameter and placement of the channels as close to the thermal loss sources, yield the best thermal performance, but big pressure drops can occur in the system, which should be taken into account when choosing the cooling method. Also, the manufacturability and material of the stator sleeve which separates stator from the rotor is commented.
