Abstract
Tema ovog rada je opisivanje strukture i svojstava berilija i njegovih legura. U uvodu su dati opći podaci vezani uz berilij poput njegovog otkrića i osnovnih svojstava. Nakon uvoda slijedi prikaz njegovih kemijskih, toplinskih, fizikalnih te mehanička svojstva. Opisan je također i postupak dobivanja berilija i njegovih prahova iz minerala berila i bertrandita te postupci konsolidacije prahova u gotove proizvode. Ovisno o području primjene, berilij se može raspodijeliti u konstrukcijske, instrumentalne i optičke razrede. Kako bi se poboljšala svojstva, berilij se dodaje različitim metalima te su u radu opisana svojstva takvih legura. Zbog svojih svojstava i visoke cijene, berilij se najviše primjenjuje u nuklearnoj, svemirskoj i zrakoplovnoj industriji. U posljednjem dijelu rada opisan je utjecaj berilija na zdravlje ljudi koji su u svakodnevnom kontaktu s berilijem te na biljni i životinjski svijet.
Abstract (english)
The topic of this paper is to describe the structure and properties of beryllium and its alloys. The introduction provides general information related to beryllium such as its discovery and basic properties. The introduction is followed by a presentation of its chemical, thermal, physical and mechanical properties. The process of obtaining beryllium and its powders from the minerals beryl and bertrandite and the processes of consolidation of powders into finished products are also described. Depending on the area of application, beryllium can be divided into structural, instrumental and optical classes. In order to improve the properties, beryllium is added to various metals and the properties of such alloys are described in the paper. Due to its properties and high price, beryllium is mostly used in the nuclear and aerospace industries. The last part of the paper describes the impact of beryllium on the health of people who are in daily contact with beryllium and on flora and fauna.
