Abstract
Sport i turizam predstavljaju dva međusobno povezana društveno-ekonomska čimbenika. One su srodne, imaju bliske funkcije jer su im nositelji, u pravilu, isti subjekti. Njihova povezanost i isprepletenost u posljednjim desetljećima ima tendenciju rasta. Republika Hrvatska ne predstavlja samo turistički razvijenu zemlju već je riječ i o razvijenoj zemlji po pitanju sportskog turizma, u kojoj su dostupne različite sportske djelatnosti poput sportskih aktivnosti djece i mladih, natjecateljskog sporta te različite sportske rekreacije. U rastućoj turističkoj ponudi Republike Hrvatske upravo cikloturizam i drugi oblici turizma koji su povezani sa korištenjem bicikla dobivaju na važnosti. Buduća predviđanja razvoja turističke ponude na europskom prostoru naglašavaju povećanje udjela putovanja povezanih sa biciklom kao glavnom aktivnošću ili biciklom kao ključnim prijevoznim sredstvom. Procjene su da će se takva turistička potražnja povećati za desetak posto, moguće i više. Sukladno tome sve značajniji postaje tržišni segment turista koji koriste vožnju bicikla kao dodatnu aktivnost za vrijeme odmora. Uz vožnju biciklom do izražaja dolaze atraktivni i raznoliki prirodni okoliši, okruženja, povoljne klime, blizine velikih tržišta, sigurnosno stanje zemlje u kojoj turist putuje te dostupnost kvalitetnih i raznolikih biciklističkih staza. S obzirom na sve te čimbenike može se zaključiti kako Republika Hrvatska ima mnoge prednosti na temelju kojih može razviti i unaprijediti ponudu cikloturizma na svom području. Ključni nedostatak koji može usporiti razvoj cikloturizma na području Republike Hrvatske je nepostojanje prometnih infrastruktura te dostupnost malog broja izgrađenih biciklističkih staza diljem zemlje. Na tome se svakako treba poraditi ukoliko se želi iskoristiti puni potencijal ove vrste turizma.
Abstract (english)
Sport and tourism are two interrelated socio-economic factors. One is related, they have close functions because their carriers are, as a rule, the same subjects. Their interconnectedness and intertwining in the last decades has a tendency of growth. Croatia is not only a tourist community but a highly developed sport country where all areas of sports activities have been developed: sports activities of children and young people, competitive (top) sport and sport recreation. Cyclotourism and other bicycle use in tourism are part of growing tourism activities. It is estimated that in the European context the share of travels during which biking is the main activity or the bicycle the main carrier will increase in the next ten years by more than ten percent, which is even more significant market segment that during holiday cycling is an important additional activity. Attractive and diverse natural environment, rich cultural and historical heritage from varied periods, favorable climate, close proximity to major markets, country security and a multitude of roads with lower intensity of motor traffic and roads suitable for bicycle services. The main obstacle to the strong development of cyclotourism and the use of bicycles for transport and recreation in Croatia is the absence of basic transport infrastructure (National Networks of cyclotouristic routes), which is specially built on cycling trails and trails, poor maintenance and transportation of existing cycling routes between individual parts of Croatia.
