Abstract | Sa sve značajnijom segmentacijom turističke potražnje ističe se potreba diferenciranja selektivnih oblika turizma na različite oblike, vrste i podvrste turizma. |
Abstract (english) | With the increasingly significant diversification of touristic demand, the need to differentiate selective forms of tourism into different forms, types and subtypes of tourism is emphasized. Congress tourism is evolving along with the increasingly evident processes of urbanization, global economic and social flows with the commitment to exchange knowledge, information and various achievements through organized gatherings, scientific and professional meetings and events of business guests. With the increase in education and general cultural awareness of modern travelers, two motives stand out, novelty and education. Congress tourism as such can be defined as a specific subtype of tourism, where the main motive of travel is not vacation, but active or passive participation as an individual in meetings and events of different character. In many countries, the group of business travelers is very often included in the group of tourists, thus adding the revenues of congress tourism to the group of total tourism revenues. The global pandemic COVID -19 not only brought all socio-economic structures to a standstill, but also challenged globalization and the global business of commercial enterprises. The impact of the pandemic had a strong impact on congress tourism. Since the onset of the pandemic, hundreds of events around the world have been canceled, and when news of the cancelation was received, people had to think about future options due to the changes caused by the pandemic. Many were paralyzed by the new normal, but some recognized the opportunity and decided to adapt to the new situation. The impact of the COVID -19 virus on congress tourism was confirmed, but the congress industry has experience in recovering from the global financial crisis, after which it has become even better, more creative, dynamic and flexible, which is expected with the end of this health crisis. |
