Abstract
Various currencies are used all around the world to serve as the main means of payment. Each currency has its own value at its disposal, but not all compete in the international market. In the last few years, the currency that is gaining in value is euro. Since it's introduction in 2002, it has become the official currency in 19 of the 27 member states of the European Union. It's goal is the introduction of a common currency in the European Union for several reasons. The first and most important is that it would be easier to trade on the market, but also contribute to the connection between countries. In order for Croatia to become one of the members of the Eurozone, it is necessary to meet the criteria prescribed by the Maastricht Treaty formed in 1992.
