Abstract
Ovaj rad bavi se analizom učinaka pandemije bolesti COVID-19 na poslovanje vodećih hotelskih i kampovskih poduzeća u Hrvatskoj. Financijskom analizom izvještaja tri reprezentativna hotela i tri kampa u razdoblju 2019.-2021., metodama vertikalne i horizontalne analize te izračunom financijskih pokazatelja, istražen je utjecaj pandemije na njihovo poslovanje. Rezultati provedene analize pokazuju izrazito negativan utjecaj pandemije na poslovanje promatranih poduzeća. Izabrani analizirani hoteli bilježe dramatičan pad prihoda od 66% do 97% u 2020. godini u usporedbi s 2019. godinom. Sličan trend zabilježen je i u kampovima, uz pad prihoda od 38% do 54%. Posljedično, sva analizirana poduzeća ostvarila su gubitke umjesto dobiti 2020. godine. Pokazatelji likvidnosti i profitabilnosti drastično su narušeni. U 2021. godini vidljivi su blagi znakovi oporavka, no financijski rezultati još uvijek zaostaju u usporedbi s 2019. godinom. Pandemija je ozbiljno ugrozila financijsku održivost hotela i kampova. Potrebne su hitne mjere za oporavak i jačanje otpornosti ovih važnih grana turističke industrije.
Abstract (english)
This paper analyzes the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance of leading hotel and campsite companies in Croatia. Through financial analysis of reports from three representative hotels and three campsites over the 2019-2021 period, utilizing methods of vertical and horizontal analysis and calculation of financial ratios, the influence of the pandemic on their operations was examined. The results of the conducted analysis demonstrate an extremely negative impact of the pandemic on the performance of the observed companies. The selected analyzed hotels recorded a dramatic revenue drop of 66% to 97% in 2020 compared to 2019. A similar trend was observed in the campsites, with a 38% to 54% revenue decrease. Consequently, all analyzed companies incurred losses instead of profits in 2020. Liquidity and profitability indicators were drastically impaired. In 2021, mild signs of recovery are visible, but financial results still lag compared to 2019. The pandemic has severely jeopardized the financial sustainability of hotels and campsites. Urgent measures are needed for the recovery and strengthening of resilience of these important branches of the tourism industry.
