Abstract
Rast tehnologije rezultirao je korištenjem najmodernijih sustava poput umjetne inteligencije (AI), aplikacija i usluga temeljenih na robotima u hotelijerstvu. Redovito nailazimo na rasprave o usvajanju takvih tehnologija i njihovom utjecaju na operativne troškove hotela, kao i na kvalitetu usluge prema gostima. S obzirom na važnost ovih novih tehnologija, ovaj rad istražuje trendove vezane uz usvajanje AI i robotike u hotelijerstvu. U tu svrhu, metodom dubinskog intervjua intervjuiran je direktor sektora IT-a, trenutno na poziciji vanjskog IT konzultanta za resort u regiji. Cilj ovog rada je istražiti spektar AI u vezi s hotelijerstvom. Detaljno se opisuje kako se usvajanje AI reflektira na optimizaciju procesa u hotelijerstvu, koje su prednosti i izazovi implementiranja u procese te optimiziraju li se oni zaista. Nadalje, opisuje se kako će izgledati budućnost hotelijerstva ako se ovaj trend nastavi. Dotaknute su i teme poput etike pri korištenju AI te stavovi korisnika pri interakciji s AI-em.
Abstract (english)
The growth of technology has resulted in the use of state-of-the-art systems such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robot-based applications and services in the hotel industry. There are regular discussions on the adoption of such technologies and their impact on operational costs of hotels, as well as on the quality of service to customers. Given the importance of these new technologies, this paper investigates the trend related to the adoption of AI and robotics in the hotel industry. For this purpose, we interviewed the IT Director, currently serving as an external IT consultant for a resort in the region, using an in-depth interview method. The aim of this paper is to explore the spectrum of AI in relation to the hotel industry, detailing how its adoption reflects on process optimization in hospitality, what the advantages and challenges of implementing AI in processes are, and whether they are truly optimized. Additionally, the paper considers what the future of hospitality will look like if this trend continues. The topics such as the ethics of using AI and user attitudes in interactions with AI are also explored.
