According to the WHO, physiological birth is defined as birth that began spontaneously, has a low risk of developing complications from the beginning of birth until the end of the expulsion of the child. The child in a normal birth, is born spontaneously, in a head position and between the age of 37 and 42 weeks of gestation. The goal of care is a healthy mother and newborn with the application of the lowest level of intervention that ensures adequate and good protection. This approach implies that in a normal birth, without complications, there must be a valid reason for medical professionals to interfere with the natural birth process. Ideally, a woman should know her midwife before she starts giving birth. But in most cases this is not possible, and by coming to the hospital the woman meets her midwife for the first time. It is therefore important that the midwife immediately establishes good communication, connection and cooperation with the woman and her companion. A good relationship with a midwife will contribute to a woman’s stability and reduce her anxiety or fear and allow her to develop self-confidence and experience childbirth positively. A midwife is a person who has successfully completed a midwifery education program based on ICM's essential competencies for the midwifery profession and the framework of ICM's global standards for midwifery education, and her education is recognized in the country in which she is located; a person who has acquired the necessary qualifications to be able to register and / or have a legal license to provide midwifery care and use the title of "midwife"; and a person who demonstrates his competencies in midwifery practice.
