Stroke is the leading cause of physical disability in Croatia and the world, and often leads to motor dysfunction, difficulties with walking and fine motor skills. Rehabilitation robots, as modern technology, have been developed to help in the physical rehabilitation of patients after stroke and other conditions. Other roles include alleviating the therapist's physical burden, increased limb mobility, exercise intensity, and increased productivity. The aim of this review is to determine whether the application of robotics in the rehabilitation of people after a stroke is effective. A specific goal follows from the main goal: to show the advantages and disadvantages of using robotics in the rehabilitation of people after a stroke. The literature used in this review was searched in the PubMed Central and Hrčak databases. The inclusion criteria are all research in which the subjects are people after a stroke whose rehabilitation involves robotics. Literature search excludes literature older than 2008. The limitation of the work is the insufficient number of researches in which a large number of respondents were examined in order to reach the highest possible conclusion about the effectiveness of the application of this type of rehabilitation. The current number of available studies is not sufficient for a definitive conclusion that can speak for or against modern technologies, but with the combined application of manual therapy, they can contribute to a faster recovery of function and a higher quality of life for the patient.
