Rinoplastika i septoplastika spadaju pod kirurške zahvate korekcije nosa, a face lifting označava kirurško podizanje i zatezanje kože lica i vrata u vidu pomlađivanja.
Abstract (english) The concept of beauty through history is changeable and depends on the time period, culture and area we are studying. It is most commonly associated with familiar female names and their external characteristics. Initially, an ideal woman was found in ancient Egypt, it was a Pharaoh wife, the Nefertiti. After her, the same goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, took over the same role. As the tastes of history change, we come up to the 20th century where women's beauty is compared to Marylin Monroe, Twiggy, and more recently with Kate Moss. The first signs of aging appear on the face. As many want to keep their youthful appearance, they decide on aesthetic interventions in the area of the head and neck. Plastic and aesthetic surgery covers similar areas but they are not synonyms. This paper explains the difference between the two branches of the surgery and their specificity. The most common surgical aesthetic interventions of the maxillofacial regions are blepharoplasty, otoplasty, rhinoseptoplasty, and face lifting. Other non-surgery techniques are also included, but they are not used in this paper. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes the excess skin and fat tissue of the eye lids. Otoplasty is a surgical method of levelling outgoing ("lop-eared") ears. Rhinoplasty and septoplasty fall under surgical nose correction and face lifting means surgical lifting and tightening of the face and neck skin in the form of rejuvenation. All members of the surgical team must be familiar with the procedures and work under the rules of antisepsis. The nurse in the operating room is responsible for the work in the aseptic conditions of the operating room. The role of a nurse is indispensable, since it implies all methods of control and disinfection, sterilization, preoperative procedures; covering the operating area, preparing the operating table and general and specific instrumentation and materials needed for a particular operation. This paper describes the role and guidelines for the surgical nurse through the procedures of blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, septoplasty / rhinoplasty and face lifting and surgical instruments that are specific to each of these procedures.
