INTRODUCTION: Kickboxing is a dynamic, high-intensity combat sport that requires tactical excellence and complex skills to succeed. In most martial arts, 400-500 punches are performed in one day, while in kickboxing, several thousand punches are served daily. On average, the injury rate is 40 out of 1000 minutes of exercise time or 2.5 injuries per hour. The most frequently injured parts of the body are injuries to the lower leg, face, and intracranial injuries, while the most common are superficial injuries (scratches, bruises, blisters), followed by open wounds/lacerations, contusions and fractures. RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main goal of this research was to examine the frequency of kickboxer injuries in the group of recreational players and the group of competitors in the kickboxing club Mega centar Rijeka. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The respondents who participated in the research were kickboxers from two groups (recreational and competitive) of the Kickboxing club Mega centar Rijeka. The number of respondents is 41. For the purposes of the research, an anonymous questionnaire was used, which was created exclusively for the purposes of this research. This questionnaire provided information about the subjects and their injuries. The questionnaire took place in the club's premises for three to five days, and each respondent filled it out independently and under the supervision of an examiner for 5 to 10 minutes. RESULTS: The results showed that kickboxers from the group of competitors are injured more often than those from the group of recreational players. CONCLUSION: Research has shown that more and more injuries occur in kickboxing clubs, so it is important to focus on their prevention.
