Abstract Manualna terapija zauzima specijalno mjesto u fizioterapiji, a uključuje, osim funkcionalne i diferencijalne procjene, terapiju pokretom različitih mišićno-koštanih stanja.
Abstract (english) Manual therapy occupies a special place in physiotherapy, and includes, in addition to functional and differential assessment, movement therapy for various musculoskeletal conditions. Manual manipulation is, along with mobilization, the main tool in manual therapy. We are witnessing how this technique is applied in a constant increase. Today, there are a large number of organized courses in the field of manual manipulation on the market, and the number of physiotherapists who attend the aforementioned training is increasing. The main goal of this research was to examine the attitudes and knowledge of physiotherapists about manual manipulation in physiotherapy. The research was conducted in the territory of the Republic of Croatia by means of an online questionnaire created for the purposes of this research. The questionnaire consisted of thirty questions related to general information, attitudes and knowledge of physiotherapists about manual manipulation. A total of 147 respondents participated, of which 111 were female and 35 were male. The results show that 61.22% of the respondents do not have a completed education in manual manipulation, and of the respondents who have completed education, 49.66% of them use manual manipulation in their work. Most of the respondents agreed that when performing manual manipulation, they carefully follow all indications and contraindications, and the least agreed that it is not necessary to have theoretical knowledge in the mentioned field to perform manual manipulation. Knowledge was tested using a set of ten particles. The average level of total knowledge was 50 points. The majority of respondents answered correctly that when performing manual manipulation, they would be especially careful with the neck part of the spine. Also, those who completed education in manual manipulation achieved a higher number of points on the knowledge test. Very few of these or similar works have been published in the Republic of Croatia, so I believe that the work will contribute to greater interest in the subject. The research could be an excellent basis for further study of manual manipulation as an interesting but complex technique whose application is constantly increasing.
