Abstract (english) Artificial abortion stands for every intentional cessation of pregnancy, regardless of its gestational age. There are two types of pregnancy cessations – medicament and surgical ending. Medicament type is a process of using mifepristone and misoprostole in medication. Surgical types of abortion are abortion by a vacuum extraction, dilatation and evacuation and abortion by inducing delivery using intraamnial fluid; prostanglandin F2 or intra-amnial hyperosmola urea. Due to the fact that it is a seperate entity that has a potential of becoming a person, abortion is recognized as a moral dilemma. Several spheres of society are involved in the disscusion about the problem of abortion: philosophers, health professionals, theologians, civil associations... the whole society is somehow involved in the matter. This is why this subject is so widespread, and why people from all parts of society want a definitive answer to that question. Asking questions such as: Is fetus a person? Does it have a right to live like any other person? Is the fetus part of its mother's body? Does the mother have the right to an abortion? Should abortion be forbidden, limited or completely allowed? What is the intrisic value of a potential person's life? Philosophers are trying to find the answers to these questions. Their argumentation usually focused on two questions: status of a fetus as a person and the conflict between the fetus' and mother's rights. Health professionals were involved in the center of the discussion, with their right to an invocation of consciencetoo. The right to an invocation of conscience enables health professionals to, in accordance with their religious, ethical and moral beliefs, refuse to take part in the process of abortion. Therefore, apart from the moral heaviness of an abortion, the question of the probity of the right to an invocation of conscience arised, considering that it limits the accesibillity of legal procedures in their work places.
