Abstract
UVOD: Starenje je prirodan proces, koji se događa svim ljudima. Osobe starije životne dobi se također vesele, tuguju, plaše i pokazuju hrabrost, odlučnost u nekim situacijama kao i mlađe osobe. Unaprjeđenje zdravstvene zaštite, kvalitetniji standard života, smanjena stopa prirodnog prirasta neki su od faktora povećanja udjela starijeg stanovništva u razvijenim europskim zemljama. Kod usamljenih osoba pojavljuju se specifični osjećaji poput depresije (tuga, ranjivost), očaj (uplašenost, napuštenost) i samoosuđivanje . Glavni cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti doživljaj usamljenosti osoba starije životne dobi. METODE: Istraživanje je obuhvatilo osobe starije životne dobi koji žive u svojim domaćinstvima, a članovi su Matice umirovljenika Hrvatske udruge Buzet i starije osobe koje žive u ustanovi socijalne skrbi – Domu za starije osobe Buzet.Planirani broj ispitanika bio je 120, 60 koji žive u svojim domaćinstvima i 60 koji žive u Domu za starije osobe Buzet.Kriterij za isključivanje bio je da starija osoba pati od bilo koje vrste demencija. REZULTATI:Prema rezultatima ovog istraživanja, incidencija usamljenosti raste ovisno o tome gdje stariji ljudi borave. Usporede li se rezultati udruge umirovljenika sa rezultatima Doma za starije osobe, primjećuje se kako je viša stopa zabilježena kod ispitanika u udruzi. Utvrđeno je također i kako žene pokazuju veći stupanj usamljenosti u odnosu na muškarce. ZAKLJUČAK: Osjećaj pripadnosti je važan aspekt svakog pojedinca pa tako i osoba starije životne dobi. Usamljenost se, također, smatra javnozdravstvenim problemom. Da bi se smanjila usamljenost kod starijih osoba mnoge su europske zemlje razvile intervencije za promicanje zdravlja koje se dijele na pojedinačne programe i intervencije u zajednici gdje se resursi zajednice koriste za podršku starijim osobama i njihovim potrebama.
Abstract (english)
INTRODUCTION: Ageing is a natural process that happens to everyone. Older people are also happy, sad, anxious and show courage and determination in some situations, just like younger people. Better health care, a higher quality of life and a lower natural growth rate are some of the factors that increase the proportion of older people in developed European countries. Lonely people experience specific feelings such as depression (sadness, vulnerability), despair (fear, abandonment) and self-condemnation. The aim of this study was to investigate the experience of loneliness in older people. METHODS: The study included older people living in their own households who are members of the Register of Pensioners of the Croatian Association of Buzet, as well as older people living in a social institution - the Buzet Home for the Elderly. The planned number of respondents was 120, 60 living in their own households and 60 living in the Buzet retirement home. The exclusion criterion was that the elderly suffered from any type of dementia. RESULTS: The results of this study show that the frequency of loneliness increases depending on where the elderly live. When comparing the results of the pensioners' association with those of the retirement home, it was found that a higher rate was recorded among respondents in the association. It was also found that women have a higher level of loneliness compared to men. CONCLUSION: A sense of belonging is an important aspect for everyone, including older people. Loneliness is considered a public health problem. In order to reduce loneliness among older people, many European countries have developed health promotion interventions divided into individual programmes and community interventions that use community resources to support older people and their needs.
