Spasticity is described as a motor disorder characterized by a rapid increase in muscular tone with overused tendon twitches. The condition is usually result as a injury of the central nervous system or an upper motor neuron. Specific mobilization treatment of spastic muscle is one of the methods that physiotherapist use for inhibition spasticity treatment. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the specific mobilization of the forearm and hand flexor on enhancing mobility, functional abilities and reducing the spasticity of the arm on the patients with spastic paresis hands. The study was performed in the form of a randomized controlled trial. Twenty-four examinees participated in the study, and their data were included in statistical processing. Subjects were divided into two equal groups: experimental and control group. In the experimental group, specific muscular mobilization was performed for 15 minutes through overall 15 treatments. Parameters that were used in the initial and final assessment are: a scale used to evaluate the degree of paresis, the Modified Ashwort Scale and the CAHAI-8 test that is used to evaluate the functional ability of the paramedic arm to perform tasks identified as important for those patients that have suffered a stroke. The statistical significance of the difference was observed only in the variable "Modified Ashworth Scale of Forearm Flexors (0-4)" (p = 0.02), while at the two other variables the marginal value was observed ("Elbow Range of Motion (Flexion-Extension)“ (p=0.05) and "CAHAI-8 (8-56)" (p = 0.07)). In the remaining two variables there was no statistical significance of the difference. Specific mobilization of the muscles can be a valid choice for neurorehabilitation treatment in persons with damage to the upper motor neurons in which the problem of spasticity occurs as a result of the damage. According the relevant literature, specific mobilization treatment has advatages over some other traditional physiotherapy procedures such as passive muscle stretching.
