Abstract
U radu su analizirane teorije čvrstoća koje se najčešće primjenjuju u praksi za izotropne materijale /teorija najvećih normalnih naprezanja, teorija najvećih normalnih deformacija, teorija najvećih posmičnih naprezanja, teorija potencijalne energije deformacija, teorija potencijalne energije promjene oblika/. U uvodnom dijelu opisan je problem. U teoretskom dijelu su ukratko prikazane teorije čvrstoće koje se najviše koriste u tehničkoj praksi. U riješenim primjerima određena su naprezanja kod štapova opterećenih jednakim opterećenjem, iste površine poprečnog profila, ali različitog oblika. Provedena je usporedba rezultata.
