Abstract
Rastom broja stanovništva raste i potreba za eksploatacijom metala pri čemu se narušava okoliš. Zahvati koji se vrše pri dobivanju metala ostavljaju trag na prirodi i čovjeku u obliku onečišćenih zemljišta, voda i zraka. Dolazi do potrebe za novim tehnologijama koje otvaraju vrata održivom razvoju i racionalnom korištenju prirodnih resursa. Jedna od tih tehnika je fitoremedijacija uz pomoć biljaka. Primarni fitoremedijacije je smanjiti ukupnu biopristupačnost pojedinog onečišćivala biljkama ili... More životinjama. U ovom radu, od navedene četiri metode fitoremedijacije, pažnja je posvećena eksploataciji cinka metodom fitoekstrakcije jer je ona ekonomski najisplativija obzirom da se cink pohranjuje u nadzemnom dijelu biljke koji se ubire, dok korijen ostaje u zemlji te je na taj način omogućen ponovni rast nove biljke.
