Abstract
U radu su prikazana svojstva i mehanizmi loma polimera armiranih vlaknima koji u suvremeno doba graditeljstva zauzimaju vrlo važnu ulogu. Korištenjem osnovnih principa mehanike loma - energetskog kriterija i koeficijenta intenziteta naprezanja, prikazani su uvjeti nastanka loma materijala i princip određivanja životnog vijeka konstrukcija. Također, prikazana su svojstva i načini otkazivanja FRP materijala, vjerojatno najznačajnijih predstavnika polimera armiranih vlaknima, pod različitim vrstama opterećenja. Detaljno je prikazana njihova podjela s obzirom na oblik, sastav i način ugradnje u postojeće elemente konstrukcije u odnosu na tražena mehanička svojstva koja trebaju zadovoljiti. U radu je prikazan i proračun nosivosti zida realne zgrade sa svrhom prikaza učinkovitosti i prednosti primjene polimera armiranih vlaknima u povećanju nosivosti postojećih konstrukcija.
Abstract (english)
This thesis presents the properties and fracture mechanisms of fibre-reinforced polymers which play a very important role in modern construction. Using the basic principles of fracture mechanics - the energy criterion and the stress intensity factor - the conditions for the occurrence of material failure and the principle for determining the lifespan of structures are presented. In addition, the properties and the failure modes of FRP materials, probably the most important representatives of fibre-reinforced polymers, for different types of loading are presented. Their detailed classification in terms of their shape, composition and method of installation in existing structural elements in terms of the required mechanical properties they should fulfil is also presented. Finally, the thesis includes a calculation of the load-bearing capacity of a wall in a real building with the aim of showing the effectiveness and advantages of using fibre reinforced polymers in increasing the load-bearing capacity of existing structures.
