The aim of this work is to investigate the potential of energy renovation of a historical building damaged in the 2020 earthquake in Zagreb, with an emphasis on measures to increase energy efficiency to the level of an almost zero-energy building. Based on the existing proposal for seismic strengthening of the building, and by reviewing the available literature on the comprehensive renovation of buildings under cultural protection, energy renovation measures focused primarily on the outer envelope of the building were proposed. For the proposed measures, the calculation of the required energy for heating and cooling was carried out using the hourly calculation method defined in the Algorithm for calculating the required energy for heating and cooling of the building space according to HRN EN ISO 13790. The input geometric data was determined by creating a BIM model of the building using the ArchiCAD computer package. The acceptability of the proposals was additionally analyzed from the aspect of the influence of thermal bridges and the long-term hygrothermal behavior of the envelope elements. Calculation of thermal bridges and mass transfer was carried out using available numerical models. Finally, a comparison was made of the results of the initial state and the state of the structure after renovation. The thesis will result in a solution adapted for the comprehensive renovation of the subject building damaged in the earthquake to the level of an almost zero-energy building, while respecting its historical heritage and identity.
