Abstract Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se razvojem smjernica za primjenu koncepta Lean construction-a u građevinskim izvođačkim poduzećima te primjenom tih smjernica u planiranju organizacije građenja na projektu izgradnje poslovnog objekta. Na početku pisanja rada identificirani su uzroci vremenskih i troškovnih prekoračenja te lošeg izvođenja građevinskih projekata kao posljedica nekvalitetnog upravljanja građevinskim projektima. Također, uočena je slaba primjena i nepostojanje smjernica za primjenu Lean construction-a. Navedeni problemi bili su motivacija za istraživanje novog načina upravljanja – koncepta Lean construction-a te razvoj smjernica za njegovu cjelovitu primjenu koje kao takve još uvijek ne postoje u literaturi. U sljedećem poglavlju dan je pregled literature Lean construction-a, kroz prikaz povijesnog razvoja Lean production-a i Lean thinking-a, nakon čega su definirana osnovna načela i karakteristike Lean construction-a te opisani alati/tehnike potrebni za njegovu uspješnu primjenu. Navedene su koristi koje se ostvaruju prilikom njegove provedbe, a prepoznate su u primjerima iz prakse koji su navedeni u literaturi. Na samom kraju pregleda literature, izdvojene su najznačajnije prepreke u primjeni Lean construction-a te problem nepostojanja jasnih smjernica za njegovu primjenu. Nakon prikupljenih saznanja o Lean construction-u iz pregleda literature, pristupilo se izradi smjernica za primjenu ovog koncepta. Smjernice su strukturirane u tri potpoglavlja – prepreke u primjeni Lean construction-a i prijedlozi za njihovo prevladavanje, dijagram tijeka koraka za primjenu Lean construction-a podijeljen u tri faze iz perspektive izvođača radova te ključni faktori uspjeha za primjenu koncepta Lean-a. U posljednjem dijelu rada, po završetku izrade smjernica, pristupilo se studiji slučaja projekta izgradnje poslovno – pogonske zgrade u Republici Hrvatskoj. Za potrebe istraživanja, određeno vrijeme provedeno je na gradilištu kako bi se identificirao stupanj primjene predloženih smjernica u projektu. Detaljno je opisana primjena Lean construction-a u promatranom građevinskom izvođačkom poduzeću, karakteristike promatranog projekta, provedba pojedinog koraka iz dijagram tijeka za primjenu Lean construction-a s opisanim načinom primjene pojedinog alata/tehnike i uočenim koristima i preprekama te su identificirani ključni faktori uspjeha za primjenu. U poglavlju diskusije kratko se raspravilo o dodatnim mogućnostima koje bi se mogle provesti u promatranom projektu te su dani zaključci cijeloga rada.
Abstract (english) This thesis deals with the development of guidelines for the application of the concept of Lean construction in construction companies and application of the previously mentioned guidelines in the construction management on the project of construction of a business building. At the beginning of writing this paper, the causes of time and cost overruns and poor performance of construction projects as a consequence of poor management of construction projects were identified. Also, poor application and lack of guidelines for the application of Lean construction was observed. These problems were the motivation for researching a new way of management - the concept of Lean construction and the development of guidelines for its full application, which as such do not yet exist in the literature. The next chapter provides an overview of the literature of Lean construction, through a review of the historical development of Lean production and Lean thinking, after which the basic principles and characteristics of Lean construction, as well as the tools/techniques needed for its successful application, are defined. The benefits that are realized during its implementation are listed and recognized in examples from practice that are listed in the literature. At the very end of the literature review, the most significant obstacles in the application of Lean construction and the problem of the lack of clear guidelines for its application were highlighted. After gathering knowledge about Lean construction from the literature review, guidelines for the application of this concept were developed. The guidelines are structured in three subcategories – barriers to implementation of Lean construction and suggestions for their mitigation, a flow chart of steps for implementing Lean construction divided into three phases from the contractor's perspective, and key success factors for implementing the Lean concept. In the last part of the paper, after the definition of the guidelines, the case study of the project for the construction of a business – operational building in the Republic of Croatia was analyzed. For research purposes, some time was spent on the construction site to identify the degree of application of the proposed guidelines in the project. The application of Lean construction in the observed construction company is described in detail together with the characteristics of the observed project and the implementation of each step from the flow chart for the application of Lean construction with the described method of application of each tool, as well as perceived benefits and obstacles. Techniques and key success factors for the application of Lean construction have been identified. The discussion chapter briefly describes the additional possibilities that could be implemented in the observed project and offers a recapitulation of the whole paper
