Abstract Tema ovog završnog rada je oblikovanje arhitektonskog betona, odnosno betona koji će biti trajno izložen pogledima i koji stoga zahtijeva posebnu pažnju u odabiru betonskih materijala, oblikovanju, postavljanju te završnoj obradi za dobivanje željenog arhitektonskog izgleda. Danas su vidljive betonske površine vrlo tražene i kao stilsko sredstvo i kao oblik izražavanja moderne arhitekture. Naime, velike površine betona u zgradama mogu doprinijeti estetici samo ako su izvedene s minimalnom količinom defekata i nepravilnostima koje su uobičajeno prisutne. Objašnjeni su pojmovi betona s naglaskom na arhitektonski beton te njegova važnost prilikom projektiranja i građenja jedinstvenih građevina u kojima je korišten arhitektonski beton. Potom su izložena arhitektonska razmatranja o prihvatljivim betonskim površinama, kriterijima dizajna za prihvatljive rezultate i detaljima arhitektonskog projekta te građevinska razmatranja o tome što projektanti i izvođači radova moraju imati u vidu kako bi proizveli strukturu sposobnu izdržati opterećenja i naprezanja bez pretjeranog pucanja ili deformacija koje bi mogli umanjiti arhitektonski izgled strukture. Detaljno je izložena materija oplata s podjelama u skupine, izborom materijala te načinima projektirana, izrade i održavanja oplata u korištenju arhitektonskog betona. Opisana je cjelokupna tehnologija betoniranja, pri čemu je naglasak stavljen na sastav arhitektonskog betona, metode ugradnje i oplata te utjecaj takvog načina gradnje na estetiku građevina. Konačno, rezultat takve izvedbe u izvođenju ovakvog tipa betonskih elemenata prikazan je na nekoliko primjera najbolje prakse u SAD, gdje su prikazane impozantne građevine u kojima je korišten arhitektonski beton sa slikovnim prilozima.
Abstract (english) The subject of this final work is the design of architectural concrete, i.e. concrete that will be permanently exposed to views and therefore requires special care in the selection of concrete materials, design, installation and finishing to obtain the desired architectural appearance. Today, visible concrete surfaces are in high demand both as a stylistic tool and as a form of expression of modern architecture. Namely, large areas of concrete in buildings can contribute to aesthetics only if they are made with a minimum amount of defects and irregularities that are usually present. Concepts of concrete are explained with an emphasis on architectural concrete and its importance when designing and building unique buildings in which architectural concrete was used. Architectural considerations for acceptable concrete surfaces, design criteria for acceptable results, and architectural design details are then presented, as well as structural considerations for what designers and contractors must keep in mind in order to produce a structure capable of withstanding loads and stresses without excessive cracking or deformation that could reduce the architectural appearance of the structure. The topic of formwork is presented in detail, with divisions into groups, the choice of materials and the methods of designing, making and maintaining formwork in the use of architectural concrete. The entire technology of concreting is described, with an emphasis on the composition of architectural concrete, methods of installation and formwork, and the influence of such a construction method on the aesthetics of buildings. Finally, the result of such performance in the execution of this type of concrete elements is shown on several examples of best practice in the USA, where imposing buildings in which architectural concrete was used are shown with pictorial attachments.
