The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the structural condition of the pavement using the deflection curve index. In the first part of the paper, the methods of testing the bearing capacity of pavement structures and indexes of the condition of pavement structures are explained. Determining the structural condition of the road is carried out by measuring pavement deflections using different devices. Despite the existence of more modern systems, currently the most commonly used deflection measurement method in Europe is a device with a falling weight (FWD - Falling Weight Deflectometer). The interpretation of the deflections obtained by FWD is usually done by a calculation called back analysis, which is performed by specialized computer programs. The resulting deflections can also be manually analyzed with the deflection curve index. This is shown in the analysis of the reconstruction project of state road D57, section 002 (from D46 – exit from the Nijemci settlement). By comparing the reverse analysis from the original project with the analysis of the index of the deflection curve carried out in this work, it was concluded that the results match and that for a more precise determination of the parameters of the condition of the pavement structure, which can serve as a basis for creating a rehabilitation project, it would certainly be better to carry out a backward calculation by computer program with precise determination of the thickness of layers by GPR and exploration pits. Deflection curve indices can be very useful when we have incomplete data on layer thickness or when we do not have a back-analysis program.
